Who we are.

Playmor Music is Colin Brumelle and Ian Beaty. Hi! That's us! We've been playing music together for a long time, currently in Honeybear, the Vancouver, BC-based soul, blues & roots quartet. It's still early innings for Honeybear, but in the last two years, we've taken the band from playing to 20 people in tiny bars to millions of streams and sold out shows in some of the top venues across the country.

We're a good team. Colin brings his background in ad-tech and software engineering to help coax the algorithms in the right direction. Ian is a master of finding scrappy solutions to vexing problems. Colin might have his head buried deep in a spreadsheet; Ian will be buying sheet metal to build a stage prop.

Nothing makes us happier than helping the artists we love sell out their shows and grow their audience.

What we do.

The internet seems full of people selling a packaged "this is the way!" solution for artists. Things change too fast for that. What works one month might fall flat for the next. What we're good at is solving problems and figuring out how to grow an audience for real, human artists. We love testing things, measuring the results, and iterating. ‍If you think we might be able to help, give us a shout.

  • Show promotion – We're surprisingly good at selling tickets. We love leveraging the evils of the internet to benefit real, human artists, and building community one sweaty dance floor at a time.

  • Music release and distribution – We have figured out a few things with playlists, digital ads and how they influence the algorithmic gods. We're currently getting many millions of streams per year.

  • Tour planning – We love helping artists line up great rooms to play at, and then filling those rooms!
